Wisconsin Speleological Society is interested in exploring caves in Wisconsin.

From Jack Choclate:

The WSS meets the third saturday of every month (sometimes changing for holidays, but rarely). Meetings start at 11:00am are tipicaly over by 12:30-1:00, after that its off to the caves! (Ledgeview is open to the public with a fee of $4 per person and cave tours available.) WSS does digging and exploring after its meetings at no charge from the nature center. Because we are always digging in a couple of the caves, some of the smaller passages (crawling passages) are dirty and sometimes muddy, I recomend wearing a coverall over your clothes or bring a change of cloths to change into when you are done. note: when you are changing out of dirty or muddy clothes - DO NOT GO INTO THE CENTER ! - there is an outdoor restroom for that porpose. Always have at least two (2) sources of light with each person as well as extra batteries! It is recomended that you wear a hat, a stocking cap can provide some cusion if you bump you head as well as keeping dirt out of your hair. The caves are child friendly, there are a number of kids usually at the meetings and if they can avoid falling off of big rocks they will be fine.

WSS general meeting and dig trip at Ledge View Nature Center in Chilton, WI east of Lake Winnebago. To get to Ledge View from Madison, take 151 north into Chilton, go south on 32/57, and when that turns to the left, stay straight which becomes CTY G. Take G for about a mile or so to Short Road, which is on the left. There are signs there and the entrance is on the left side of Short Rd.
