laptop vs pda
I've been debating between wanting either a laptop or a pda. Now, there is an obvious price tag difference on these objects, which makes the debate rather tough. When I start fretting over the cost of a laptop, a pda sounds like a much better choice. But, what I really want more is a laptop.
I've been looking over several different models of pdas and laptops.
Laptops:
Buisness Model Laptop:
- Dell Latitude C400
- ooh! aah!
- small
- light weight
- built in wireless
- $1,848 with the dvd player, all other perks minimal.
- might be too much laptop, but it's soooo small (and cute!)
- Dell Latitude X200
- take all the wonderful things from above, multiply by 2
- only difference is that the C400 is a cuter silver
- super sweet
- Dell Latitude C510
- Good price
- Good options
- Not as cute or small
- Still a good choice
Personal Model Laptop:
- Dell Inspiron 4150
- I actually don't like this as much as anything, but it compares to others with decent prices.
- Inspiron 2650
- Good Price
- Nice Options
- Good Price
- Tolerable
- Good Price
- Powerbook
- geek appeal
- it also tops all laptops out there
PDAs:
Sony Clie SJ30
- pretty nice.
- lower model would prolly work too
Palm m515
- Color
- Size
- Cute
Handspring Treo 90
- Size
- 16MB memory
- color
- built-in keyboard
- cute
Update: February 8, 2003
I finally bought a pda: Handspring Treo 90. I found a good deal on pricewatch.com and ordered it today. It showed up a few days later, I'm not that impressed with it function-wise. For me, it's just a slimmer, cuter, color version of the Handspring Visor that I had. Of course, that is all I need too, so I'm happy with it.
Update: February 17, 2003
I now have a 12 inch Powerbook G4. I'm a switched over mac fan; OS X is rocking my world.
Update: November 4, 2003
I still love my mac and just wanted to share.
