Letter to my elected officals (pretty much all of them) regarding the budget cut for Maryland Child Care Resource and Referral Centers:
Dear _____:
I am concerned about the recent budget cut of federal funding for Maryland’s Child Care Resource and Referral Centers. As a working parent, I know first hand that the service these centers provide is desperately needed. Also, I work for Baltimore City Child Care Resource Center and see the positive impact these services have on families and providers daily.
While connecting families with providers, these centers also help maintain a high standard of early childhood education by offering training for early childhood educators. The current budget cuts will take away this valuable service and leave many families lost when looking for child care.
The funding for this program must be restored to allow Maryland Child Care Resource and Referral Centers to continue serving Maryland’s families and educators.
