Tegretol is a brand name for carbamazepine.
USE:
Tegretol is used for the treatment of bipolar disorder. Usual dose is 600-12,00mg a day. Blood-level monitoring must be done.
SIDE EFFECTS:
From Surviving Manic Depression:
sleepininess, dizziness, heacache, nausea, decreased concentration, confusion, abnormal heart rhythmes, fluid retention, allergice skin reaction.
Some symptoms appear at the start of medication therapy and fade over time.
