Road Tripping

written by k. suzanne henderson

I've got road tripping down to an art. Gone are the days when I used to think that I actually had to plan out when and where I wanted to go. Gone are the days that 900 miles seemed like too far to go in a short weekend. I've figured out how to twist my friends arm's or tempt them into a 12-15 hour drive with me and my Cavilear. My car is now 5 years old and has over 70,000 miles. Not all that impressive except when I realize that I was closer to 30,000 when the year started.

But the trips to Baltimore, MD feel like second nature to me now. I no longer need the road map that is lost in my messy car. I have visited every rest stop along I-80 and I-70. I know which one's have the best restrooms, the most edible food, and the ice cream vending machine. Magorn, Dingo, and Ceci have all been sucked into my devious plans to spend another night in the arms of my love. And even he has finally realized what it is like to sit cramped in a car, without cruise control, for hours upon end with nothing around for entertainment than each other's conversation and the physical reminders that we are there. Anyone up for a road trip? I'm game.
